— Good to know

Questions, answered.

Where is GOAT?

GOAT is at 12 Wyndham Street, Auckland CBD 1010, between Federal and Albert Streets — a short walk from Queen Street and Commercial Bay.

What are the opening hours?

Dinner runs Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm — until 9:30pm Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday, and until 10pm on Friday and Saturday. Lunch is served Friday to Sunday, 12–3pm. We are closed on Mondays.

Where can I park?

Three Wilson car parks are within a few minutes on foot: SAP Tower (entry at 17 Wyndham Street, about 1 minute), Durham Lane (5 Durham Lane, about 2 minutes), and Farmers (entry at 21 Hobson Street, about 3 minutes).

Do I need to book?

The room is small, so booking is recommended — reserve online at goatakl.co.nz/book or call 09 3777 414. Walk-ins are seated when space allows.

Does GOAT have vegetarian and vegan food?

Yes. Vegetarian and plant-based dishes run right through the menu — from the smoked jackfruit kofta of the Awadhi Nimona to paneer, daal, okra and eggplant dishes. Tell us your dietary requirements when you book and we will guide you through the options.

Can GOAT cater to food allergies?

Yes. Please tell your server about any allergies or dietary requirements before ordering and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. GOAT operates a shared kitchen that handles dairy, nuts, mustard, gluten and other allergens daily, so we cannot guarantee a dish will be free from traces of allergens. Anything from the deep fryer contains allergens and should be avoided by guests with severe allergies.

Is GOAT suitable for coeliacs and gluten-free diets?

GOAT offers a range of gluten-free dishes and gluten-free roti is available, prepared on cleaned surfaces with separate utensils. However, all food is cooked in the same kitchen, where airborne flour and traces of gluten remain present, so we cannot guarantee any dish is 100% gluten-free. Guests with coeliac disease or severe allergies should take this shared-kitchen environment into account.

What is "Leave it to the GOAT"?

Our chef’s tasting experience: a four-course tasting menu that changes regularly, inspired by the regions, seasons and stories that define GOAT, $85 per person. Tell us what you can’t eat and we take care of the rest. A single guest can choose it, but the entire table joins the same set menu experience. Wine pairing $49 per person.

Can you host groups or private dining?

Yes. For tables of ten or more, we serve the same Great Indian Table menu at $120 per person. See goatakl.co.nz/menu-groups or email hello@goatakl.co.nz.

Is there a dress code?

No, there is no dress code. Come as you are.

Do you have halal options?

Yes, halal options are available. Let us know when you book and we will guide you through the menu.

Can I BYO?

No, GOAT does not offer BYO. Our wine list and cocktails are built around the menu, and a wine pairing is available with the tasting experience.

Is GOAT wheelchair accessible?
