MICHELIN Guide 2026 Bib Gourmand

In June 2026, GOAT was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide 2026 — part of the first MICHELIN Guide selection for New Zealand. The distinction recognises our regional Indian cooking at 12 Wyndham Street, Auckland CBD.

What did GOAT receive from the MICHELIN Guide?

GOAT was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide 2026, part of the first MICHELIN Guide selection for New Zealand, announced in June 2026.

What is a Bib Gourmand?

The Bib Gourmand is a distinction awarded by the MICHELIN Guide’s anonymous inspectors to restaurants serving exceptionally good food at a moderate price. It is named after Bibendum, the Michelin Man, and sits alongside the Stars as one of the Guide’s recognised awards.

Is GOAT a Michelin-starred restaurant?

GOAT holds a Bib Gourmand, not a Star. Both are distinctions awarded by the same MICHELIN Guide inspectors — the Bib Gourmand specifically recognises outstanding cooking at a price most diners can enjoy regularly.

Has anything changed at GOAT since the award?

No. The same regional Indian menu, the same room at 12 Wyndham Street, the same team. The room is small, so booking ahead is recommended — reserve at goatakl.co.nz/book or call 09 3777 414.
